Over 100 Years of Dedication
Since 1915, four generations of the Sheridan family have come through the business.
Sheridan Motor Group was founded in 1915 by TJ Sheridan on the quay in Waterford, and soon became one of the first Ford Dealers in Ireland in 1919. We have an uninterrupted relationship with Ford Motor Company since then. We remain a KIA and Ford service dealer to this day. We are to this day a wholly-owned family business and very proud of it.
Hertz Lease is Established
Sheridan Leasing Ltd was founded on St Patrick’s Day, 1973, becoming Archer Sheridan Leasing in 1981 when we acquired the leasing book from Archers’ Ford Garage in Dublin. We became the exclusive Hertz Lease Franchisee in 1985 and have traded as Hertz Lease in Ireland ever since.
Little did TJ Sheridan know when he started his business back in 1915 that four generations of the Sheridan family will have come through the business, and that his Grandson Tony Sheridan would be Managing Director of the longest standing and largest independent leasing company in Ireland.
From relatively humble beginnings, our business in Waterford now trades from a state-of-the-art facility on the Cork Road, Waterford. Hertz Lease is located on Mespil Road, Dublin 4 in the heart of Georgian Dublin looking on to the banks of the Grand Canal.
